Nicole Ari Parker has worked on film, television, and on stages. Her most well-known role was for her character Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. She is now known by her married name, Nikki Kodjoe. As a child in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always interested in acting. In an Maryland high school contest at the beginning of her education she received the award for best actress. In addition to her work at the theater, she also worked with the Washington Ballet Company. She earned an acting degree from New York University. Her debut role in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned the most respect. It was followed by other films like 'Boogie Nights Spark' and Blue Streak. Her praise was for her role as a character in Soul Food. Her appearances also appeared in TV programs like Second Time Around" and Empire. At the beginning of her career she performed in a variety of stage productions. Parker also takes an active interest in politics is married to model-actor Boris Kodjoe. They have two daughters.
Contractor who was born in Mumbai and lived in Nigeria over seven years was awash with adventures and cultural encounters from an early age. After attending boarding school for seven years in London the family moved to Toronto Canada where she spent much of her early years as well as her early years of adulthood. Contractor studied and became a classical dancer in Toronto. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in the arts) she studied dance and theatre. Contractor, who had been dancing for nearly ten years at that time, decided she was ready to concentrate on acting. She was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Toronto after graduating. The university offered her master's in theatre, and double majored in social and psychology. Contractor was offered the leading role in Pericles following her one year stay at the University. She was a part of the audition for the role in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. After two weeks of performances, she got glowing reviews. This play was named the top production in Canada by critics. She accepted the invitation to enroll in Stratford's conservatory, a program that allows only four males and eight women can take the 20-week crash training in classical theater. Her place in the upcoming play season was secured and she was offered the part of Hermia.
